CAPACIDAD DE REACCIÓN / ABILITY TO REACT

Siempre manteniéndote dentro de los parámetros del mensaje que estás contando. Hace mucho tiempo me dijeron que eso era la parte oscura de dirigir: "tener la capacidad de reaccionar cuando el camino se tuerce". 

Y sí, siempre se tuerce. En mayor o menos medida, pero siempre se tuerce.

Sin ir más lejos, hasta hace un par de días toda la parte que rodamos en Sevilla en 4 días la íbamos a hacer a dos cámaras, pues el segundo operador se ha caído para gran parte del rodaje y ahora tenemos que determinar en qué escenas le necesitamos más y en cuáles podemos tirar a una cámara.

Tenemos mucho metraje que rodar y lo podremos hacer a una sola cámara, pero aquí estoy revisando el guión técnico para poder reconducir el rodaje sin que se nos quede nada en el tintero.

Y es que conforme se acerca el día de rodaje los elementos empiezan a bailar, y en especial aquellos que se escapan de cualquier control. Por eso nos esforzamos por ser capaces de reaccionar ante cualquier imprevisto, lluvia incluída.

Always inside of the parameters of what you are telling. Long time ago I was told filmmaking was about that: "having the ability of react when things fall apart".

And yes, things always fall apart, in higher or lower measure, but it always happens:

We start to shoot in Sevilla in about 4 days and we have everything planned to do it with two cameras. Well, couple days ago one of the camera operators told us he wouldn't be able to stay every day on set so we now have to decide which scenes need two cameras and which ones we can do it with just one.

We have a lot of to shoot and I'm sure we can do it with one camera but here I am, reviewing the shotlist in order to make a it real without losing anything we really need to get.

The closer is the shooting, the higher are the odds to something falls down, specially if it's something out of your control. That's why we encourage to find a way to keep going and face any trouble, raining included.
