DIRIGIR EN DOS IDIOMAS / DIRECTING IN TWO LANGUAGES

Hubo un momento en "Second Round": rodábamos el combate entre dos personajes, actores hispano parlantes ambos pero con dominio excelso del inglés; el resto del equipo hablaba el mismo español que yo cantonés. Teníamos 47 planos a rodar en 10 horas a 2 cámaras. Nos quedaban dos horas para irnos y me patinaba el cerebro. Tenía que darle las directrices a los actores. Era incapaz de construir una frase en inglés con sentido y Jaime, actorazo, director inconmensurable (como persona regulera -coña obvia-), me dijo: "dilo en español".

Hoy he caido en que el rodaje en NYC va a llevar esa situación al límite ya que creo que (ya me corregirán ellos) que el reparto esta así así con el inglés.

Así que cuando me encuentre con una escena con, por ejemplo, Sally y Héctor, estaré en el maravilloso mundo de explicarle el blocking a cada uno en su idioma. 
Durante 13 días sin descanso.

Estoy deseando ver qué escribo en este blog el día 11 sobre este aspecto.

EN DOS DÍAS EMPEZAMOS......... Y ya están aquí TODOS.

I remember this from "Second Round" shooting: we're doing the combat between two male characters with spanish actors on it. Both of them speak english better than me. The crew have the same level of spanish than cantonese. We have 47 shots to make, 10 hours and 2 cameras. We're 2 hours left and I'm so exhausted that I can barely build a sentence properly. I'm with the actors and Jaime says to me: "In spanish, Dani".

I've just realized this feature film will push that envelop to unknown limits because I'm pretty sure the spanish cast speak two or three words in english.

So I already can see this picture: we're on set with Sally (english) and Héctor (spanish), working on bloking in 2 languages.

This situation is going to happen 13 days in a row.

I'm looking forward to read what I'll write here on day #11 about it.
