Recuerdo ver un documental sobre directores que hablaban sobre sus preocupaciones durante sus óperas primas, y en particular a Denzel Washington cuando, mientras rodaba "Antwone Fisher", decía que su máxima preocupación era que los planos casasen, que tuvieran continuidad. 

Esa duda se quedó atrás hace ya unos añitos (y no me creo que Denzel la tuviera en ningún momento) pero lo que sí creo que ese es el punto de partida, la meta es conseguir el montaje de cada escena que quieres, algo que hasta la fecha, en los cortos realizados, pasaba de vez en cuando ya que si no era una sombra, una línea de diálogo, un sonido, un encuadre... al final algo hacía que la idea original para una escena se viese supeditada a tener que ser salvada.

Después de tener todo el primer acto con un rough cut acaba de nacerme una sonrisa porque cada escena de esos primero 18 minutos (que dejaremos en menos de 15) ofrece opciones, lo que significa en que voy a poner obtener el resultado que esperaba de ellas porque todo el equipo (técnico y artístico) lo ha hecho posible.

Deseando pasar de ese rough cut a uno más cercano al estilo de la película.

Some time ago I watched a documentary about filmmakers who talked about their first movies. Denzel Washington, as he shot "Antwone Fisher", said what he worried the most was just to be sure that every shot fit with the next one.

That doubt is out of me some time ago -actually I'm pretty sure Denzel hadn't at all- but what I do think that's the starting point and getting what you exactly want is the goal. That's something I've tried in every shortfilm made until now but sometimes a shadow, a dialogue, the frame... something always pushed me from that goal and I never could get what I wanted when I design the whole project.

I already have a rough cut of the first act of the movie and I'm glad because every single scene in this 18 minutes -we'll put it down to less than 15- gives me options which means I'll be able to get what I expected thank to the whole crew and cast who have made it possible.

I'm looking forward to finish this rough cut in order to get the style I want for the movie.
