Razonamiento que me tiene desde entonces dándole vueltas a una idea:
Creo que el montaje de imagen de la película está cerca de ser el definitivo (o lo mismo no, vete tú a saber) a falta de una importante conversación con mi jefa suprema. Así que me he puesto a pensar de una manera más exhaustiva en el recorrido de la película a partir de que sonido, efectos y música cierren el paquete.
Ese recorrido vendrá marcado por la película REAL que tengamos. No la que yo crea, sino la que en realidad tenemos.
Y tratando de ser real creo que no tenemos una película comercial, de género.
Me resulta imposible numerar la de veces que alguien del equipo (técnico y artístico) ha querido catalogar la historia y siempre se ha encontrado con una cara mía en forma de: es que en realidad no es una comedia... O la de: no, no, no. No es un drama.
Tratando de ser real creo que tenemos un película independiente, con un mensaje fácilmente reconocible, interpretable y optimista, que deja un poso en forma de sonrisa sin llegar a la carcajada ni a la lágrima.
Creo. Repito. Creo.
Ya me lo dirás tú cuando la veas.
(No sé si me estoy tirando piedras contra mi propio tejado porque esto lo escribo con conocimiento de causa y orgullo).
Más allá del resultado real y final, creo que la película será lo que debía ser, y creo que, por encima de todo es libre.
Es el proyecto que se quería levantar y la historia que se quería contar.
La primera película podría ser esa con la que pegar el zambombazo y hacerte rico.
Podría ser cine de género (el que se quiera y/o/u dé más coraje) solo que el cine de género responde a unos elementos estructurales necesitados de ser respetados y, como mucho, decorados de otra manera.
Es decir, sería un proyecto más vendible pero menos libre por la necesidad de respetar esas estructuras y elementos.
Y que conste ambas opciones son tan válidas como reales, pero esto es una mera cuestión subjetiva.
Ahora que la película está en manos de sonido y efectos visuales me permito pensar en la sinopsis del siguiente proyecto: "Algo de género, vendible. Sí, pero con esa libertad".
¿Tengo un problema? ¿O estoy destinado a ser pobre toda mi vida?

A friend of mine told me his idea for his first feature film some days ago: "(...) you know, something pretty commercial, something we can sell (...) a genre film so we can get money from it".
I've been thinking about this for a while:
I think we almost have the final cut of out film -maybe not, who knows-. I need to talk to my big boss about it. Anyway, I'm thinking about the path of the film once we finally wrap it.
That path will be for the real movie we have. Not the one I think we have but the real one.
And I'm trying to be real so I can say I do not think we hace a genre film, something commercial.
It's hard for me to say how many times I've listened someone from the crew or cast trying to tag the movie and they always got me with a face like: actually it's not a comedy... Or: no, no, no. It's not a drama. Something in between.
Trying to be real I think we have an independent film, one with an easy understandable and optimistic message. The kind of story that gives you a smile at the end but neither loud laughs or tears.
This is what I think. I repit: what I THINK.
You'll tell me when you watch it.

Anyway, I think the film is what it was supposed to be and it's free, beyond the final and real result.
This is the project we wanted to build up and the story we wanted to tell.
A first feature film could be the kind of you can sell and get a lot of money.
It could be a genre film (the one you like the most) but this type of movies have some structure you need to respect and play around with in the best case scenario.
You'd have a marketable project but less free cause you have those structures you need to respect.
Just in case, every option is so valid, good and real from my POV.
Our film is now on sound and VFX so I let myself to think about the next project: "A genre film, marketable. Yes but I need that freedom".
Am I in trouble? Is my fate to be poor for the rest of my life?
