LA VOZ DE LOS PERSONAJES / CHARACTERS' VOICE

Creo que tenía 18 ó 19 años cuando leí en un libro sobre escritura cinematográfica que no importan las palabras que escribas si luego no cumplen tres requisitos: que sean coherentes con los personajes, que transmitan el mensaje, y que sean verosímiles.

Ese día empecé mi neura con la incensante búsqueda del realismo en los personajes. A día de hoy lo que más me saca de cualquier historia es que éstos estén completamente fuera de cualquier naturalidad o lógica.

No es hasta que cruzamos el umbral de la credibilidad cuando puedo meterme en la búsqueda de la voz de los personajes, esa que los define, que no está referida únicamente a los diálogos sino a las acciones. Y para hacerlos creíbles y poder encontrar esa voz están los ensayos.

Así que, a ensayar....

I was 18 or 19 when I read a book about screenwritting which said that it really doesn't matter the words you write but three goals to achieve: dialogues has to be coherents to the characters, has to send the message and to be realistics.

That was the day when I became a raider of the realism in characters because what it really gets me out from a story is the lack of logic in what the characters sais and does.

As soon as we cross the line of credibility I can go straight to the search of the characters' voice, the one which defines them -and not only dialogues but actions-. And to find that voice we use rehearsals.

So let's rehearse...
