DÍA 05 / DAY 05

Terminamos!
En Sevilla, pero terminamos al final y al cabo una etapa de la película.

Y lo hicimos con una secuencia en un entorno totalmente controlado, a diferencia del caos del día anterior. Y fue sobre ruedas... también a diferencia del día anterior.

Y tocó ese momento, mezcla agridulce, de alegrarte una barbaridad por haber sobrevivido a esta parte del proceso, entristecerte por saber que vas a tardar en volver a estar con este gente única y maravillosa, y encenderte porque hay que pensar ya en lo siguiente que viene.

Después de comprobar los dailies y ser testigo del inmenso trabajo que todo esta gente se ha marcado, personalmente puedo decir que emprendemos la segunda etapa, la que toca en la ciudad, con unas ganas indescriptibles por mantener el altísimo nivel que hemos obtenido aquí, y sí, GRACIAS a esta gente:

Faltan: Alex Navarro, Masero, Pepo, Mar García, Manu León, Nuria Dorado, Rafa Melgar (que hace la foto), Mel García, Teresa Arbolí y Gabri.

Millones de gracias por esta semana y por dar tanto valor a lo que habéis hecho.

That's a wrap!

In Sevilla, what we just ended this stage of the movie.

And we did with a sequence in an environment which was totally under control -not like the day before-. And everything went really smooth -not like the day before neither-.

And we reached that moment -mix between sadness and happiness- with a smile because of you've survived to this part of the process, at the same time you feel you know you're not completely happy because you're not going to work with this wonderful people in a while, but you can't afford put your energy down because of what's next.

After checking dailies and being witness the amazing job made by this crew, I need to say that we begin the next stage -the one in the city- so full of desires to keep this high level which we made THANK to this people:

Missing: Alex Navarro, Masero, Pepo, Mar García, Manu León, Nuria Dorado, Rafa Melgar (making the photo), Mel García, Teresa Arbolí y Gabri.

Tons of thanks you all!

NYC, here we go!!

DÍA 04 / DAY 04

La lucha entre nosotros y el tiempo.
Álvaro: "Dani, tienes que pensar en resolver la escena como sea".

El tiempo se puso tan gracioso que hizo que la escena capital del rodaje en Sevilla estuviera en serio peligro.

Anunciaban algo de lluvia a primera hora de la mañana y se equivocaron (raro por otro lado). Lluvia, sol a muerte, nubes, más sol, más nubes, diluvio... Consecuencia: barro y la imposibilidad de resolver la escena como estaba planificada. En su lugar, esta gente se echo el burro al cuello y conseguimos cubrir la totalidad de la escena. Ya llegará la bendita locura del montaje.

La tarde era para otra escena de relevancia, con sus 3 páginas de diálogos debajo de un puente.
El tiempo decía sol y tranquilidad.
Y acabamos rodando en un tornado. Y otra vez más, el equipo consiguió la escena tal y como estaba sobre el papel.

Si en algún momento llegara a la diatriba entre hacerme o no un tatuaje está claro que tendría que ponerme un GRACIAS en el pecho de sobaco a sobaco.

Ah!! Y TENEMOS LA ESCENA 14!!

The fight between us and the weather.
Álvaro: "Dani, you have to think about get what you need from this scene".

Weather had a funny day and put the most important scene here in Sevilla in danger.

Forecast said it'd be raining early in the morning and rest of the day would be easy. And they were wrong: rain, sun, clouds, more sun, more clouds, hard rain... Result: mud and 0 chances of getting the scene how it was planned. But this people took the challenge and we got the scene. Editing will be funny.

We got another main scene in the afternoon -3 dialogued pages under the bridge-.
Forecast: sun and quietness.
Real situation: a tornado.
But once again, this crew gave me the scene exactly I saw it when I wrote it.

If I think about a tatoo sometime, it will one with a BIG THANK YOU all over my chest.

And WE FINALLY GOT SCENE 14!!

DÍA 03 / DAY 03

Sin palabras.
Porque podría intentar describir la sensación de cómo ha terminado el día pero acabarían pasando dos cosas:
1) Lo mismo que cuando intentas explicar lo bueno que está un Vanilla Chai, que no llegas ni queriendo.
2) Que habría que hacer justicia a todo lo que el equipo (técnico y artístico) ha hecho hoy, a eso te digo ya que no llego.

Me voy a quedar con las fotos...

...y lo siguiente:
Rodar la escena inicial de una película como esta la afrontas pensando en poder cuidar cada detalle de las 6 pág de diálogos que tiene, pero eso es imposible si el reparto no está a dos mil y el equipo técnico dispuesto a sufrir.

Y ambos me han regalado el tener la escena que quería al 100%, con lo imposible que eso resulta.

G R A C I A S!

Eso sí, la escena 14 sigue siendo maltratada por el tiempo: ¿serás mañana?

Speechless.

I could try to describe this feeling about how the day just ended but it'd happen two things:

1) Same than when you try to explain how good a Vanilla Chai is -you could try but never make it real-.

2) I would have to describe every single and wonderful detail of the job made by this people (crew and cast) today and I can assure you now I won't get it.

So I'm using these pics:

Actually there is a thing I want to write: shooting the first scene of this movie is like dealing with the biggest challenge cause you really want to get every little thing you need from the 6 dialogued pages, but that's impossible if cast is not 2000% involved and crew is willing to suffer.

But this people just gave one of the most wonderful experience on set: the scene I wanted the most.

DÍA 02 / DAY 02

Locura!!!
8 escenas, 29 planos, 9 cambios de luz... 8 horas. Y a patinar el cerebro!

Ha sido de esas jornadas de rodaje en la que se pone a prueba la capacidad de hasta la hormiga que pasa por tu lado mientras piensas como de cerrado es el PP que tenías planificado en la escena 09. Pues así.

Y lo mejor de todo es que aun llevando la capacidad a este límite el resultado es complicado de creer que sea tan bueno. Y no regalo los oídos a esta gente que son tos unos pamplinas, expongo realidades. Y por si no queda claro, para muestra, un botón:

Y para que no surja la duda de si somos o no masoquistas me veo en la obligación de cagarme en los muertos de la lluvia y futuros descendientes. Porque esta bendita locura de plan de rodaje no era lo previsto: tuvimos que alterar todo el día de ayer como resultado de una previsión de lluvia que se cumplió completamente opuesta a lo previsto y que, como resultado, hizo que rodáramos dejando el límite de la inteligencia allá por donde Paco perdió el silbato y se nos quedara la escena 14 en el tintero, deseando poder ubicarla en el final de nuestro siguiente día de rodaje.

Madness!!!

8 scenes, 29 shots, 9 lighting set ups... 8 hours. And losing the brain!

It's been one of those days where ability is testing to limit.

But even pushing this limit to the highest level, the result is so good that it's really hard to believe it's true. I'm not flattering the crew cause they know they're not so good (XD) but show the reality. And here it's a sample:

And just to avoid you see us like a crazy people who has no idea of planning a day on a shotting, I have to say that I hate weather. This blessed day was this way because of a weather forecast which said one thing and not happened at all so we push our mind and effort and came this wonderful plan true. And the funniest thing is we couldn't shoot scene 14 but I'm fighting against all odds to make it happen.

DÍA 01 / DAY 01

"¿Todo bien? ¿Estás contento?"-. "Muchísimo nene"-. "No, como estás tan serio".
Pues la verdad es que no puedo estar más contento.

Un día donde el tiempo ha acompañado (creo que en justificación por la que nos puede caer mañana), con los actores al 100% y el equipo me ha dejado sin palabras.... El resultado del producto está en manos de la calidad de quienes lo sacan adelante según dicen. Pues exactamente eso.

Impresionante día, donde hemos rodado un total 8 escenas, bastante rápidas todas, con el pequeño percance de un lesión muscular (sí, es que las comedias exigen lo suyo), y con un nivel de resolución que me deja fundido y con una sonrisa.

Mañana más.

"Everything alright? U happy?"-. "Really happy man"-. "Sure, cause I see you so serious".

The truth is I'm beyond happiness.

It's been a day where weather helped us -maybe because tomorrow it will take its revenge-, cast was over the top and crew made me speechless.... The result of everything is a consecuence of the quality of  the people who work on it, that's what people say, isn't it? Well, that's exactly what happened today.

Amazing day: we shot 8 scenes, pretty quick each of them; we had a little trouble with some muscle injured -comedy is pretty dangerous-, but it wasn't too bad. We have a crew so talented that they can solve any kind of situation and always with a smile on their faces.

Let's see how tomorrow ends ;).

Pues eso: mañana por la mañana comienza la aventura.
A partir de ahora iré escribiendo pero a final de cada jornada y así podré contar cómo ha ido.

¿NERVIOSO? / ARE YOU NERVOUS?

El lait-motiv de la última semana.

No.

Nervioso no.

Ansioso, todo lo que tú quieras.

Tenía 14 años cuando unos amigos dijeron de coger una cámara y hacer el polla imitando al Equipo A o algo así.

Yo cogí la cámara de mi padre y acabamos haciendo una película de detectives donde las persecuciones de coches eran juguetes que empujados por los dedos sobre el suelo del patio. Ni siquiera nos curramos ponerle en el asfalto para dar un poco el pego.

Ha costado 18 años.

Sí, estoy ansioso.

Mañana EMPEZAMOS.....

The question of my last week.

Not nervous.

Anxious.

I was 14 when some friends said: "why don't we pick up a camera and record ourself doing cool things like The A-Tema (yeah, I know)?".

I took my dad's camera and we did the most stupid movie with detectives EVER. We even had car chases which we did with toys pushed by our fingers on the backyard (we didn't make the effort of shooting that on the street so we could pretend it was happing on a real road).

It's taken 18 years.

Yes. I'm pretty anxious.

We're starting TOMORROW.......
